The CropSense Crop Growth and Health Diagnostic Instrument is a product of over two decades of leading international research in crop quantitative remote sensing, conducted under the guidance of Academician Zhao Chunjiang at NERCITA and NERCIEA. It is tailored for major staple and cash crops such as wheat, corn, rice, tea, and apples. The CropSense Crop Growth and Health Spectroscopy Detector has undergone four rounds of iteration and enhancement, resulting in a more portable system with improved data stability and accuracy. The product incorporates a highly integrated and modular design, featuring a compact size, lightweight, and user-friendly operation. The core components have been meticulously tested and selected to ensure the device's reliability. With a single tap on a mobile app, users can access a variety of data types, including NDVI, chlorophyll content, leaf area, coverage, yield estimation, and fertilization recommendations, while also achieving synchronized local and server data storage and updates, effectively safeguarding data integrity. The system supports various operational modes, such as on-the-go manual measurement, fixed observation by meteorological stations, and continuous multi-point measurement by drones.

To date, the system has secured several core independent intellectual property rights, registered trademarks both domestically and internationally, and passed national authoritative quality inspection certification. It has been recognized as an outstanding project for new technologies, new products, and new models in digital agriculture and rural areas for the year 2021. By the end of 2023, it has been promoted in over 20 provinces with more than 800 units deployed, primarily across nearly a hundred agricultural technology promotion stations, research institutes, national modern agricultural industrial parks, universities, and related enterprises. Additionally, the center has collaborated with the Rutherford National Laboratory in the UK and the UK-based Map Ag company, exporting the equipment to the UK and countries along the Belt and Road Initiative.
