Researcher Baozhu Yang, male, was born on February 1966, received his master Degree from department of agronomy, China Agricultural University in 1991,and graduated from the class of business management for graduation students in business college of Renmin university of China in 2006. His experience covers the research and application of agricultural information technology. Now he has headed the Beijing Paide information technology Co., Ltd as well the vice deputy of National Engineering Research Center for Information Technology in Agriculture.


Researcher Yang was in charge of 18 key research projects of national, provincial and ministerial, and published over 50 papers, 6 books as well registered within 22 software copyrights. He was received a second prize of national science and technology (S&T) progress, a first prize and two second progress of Beijing S&T progress as well the 7th youth S&T prize from China agronomy association. Moreover, he was honored such as ¡°Patriotic Merit¡± of Beijing city in 1999, innovation of economic technology of Beijing city in 2004 and 100 pioneers of China informative industrialization in 2006. In addition, he was elected as the expert of senior agricultural expert pool in contemporary China and the pool of outstanding expert of science & education for prospering China, as well enrolled in the list of training plan of excellent people of Beijing city in 1998 and S&T new star of Beijing city in 1999.


Researcher Yang also was in charge of 6 key projects of national 863 plan that based on the platform for agricultural intelligence system (PAID) .The platform advanced in the world and followed the COM/DCOM technic standard and integrated the knowledge rule and model, intelligence system and Web GIS, and had the characters of network, components, intelligent, hiberarchy and visualization. The product were widely used in the 10 counties of Beijing, 26 cities or provinces of China and southeast Asia. More than 200 practical agricultural intelligence system were explored which produced over 2 million Yuan directly and 2 billion indirectly. Besides these, researcher Yang also compiled 3 training books related to these software and trained more than 5,000 people of local government officers, agricultural technical staff and farmers, which achieved significant social benefit.

Researcher Yang explored the developing tools for agricultural intelligence system base on handheld personal computer (HPC) and personal digital assistant (PDA). More than 40 production related to HPC and 300 related to PDA were developed, which broke through the limitation of some key technologies of rule reasoning of production knowledge ,user hierarch, database synchronization transition¡¢compact flash (CF) card and update through network. Over 5,000 instruments were applied 12 district, city or province such as Beijing city, Sichuan province and Liaoning province, which benefited over 200 thousand farmers and produced more than 3 million Yuan directly and 500 million indirectly. In addition, the achievement advanced in rule reasoning of agronomy knowledge and system integration in China and the portable agricultural intelligence system filled the blank of this field in China.


Researcher Yang built the information service network of modern country and set the agricultural information service web site ¡°www.nnn.net.cn¡± ,which was selected as one of 100 superior agricultural web sites in china. When the information were processed based on the uniform database structure, the website will provide the information service for agriculture, rural and farmer through the computer network, telephone network and satellite network, which overcome the problems of single way service, low efficiency , high cost and lake of users in the past. To date, the network covered the 10 main agricultural districts of Beijing city and over 500 thousand farmers of more than 20 cities or provinces, produced much social and economic benefit and supported the problems related to ¡°digital gap¡± and ¡°the last 1 kilometer¡± .


Researcher yang presented the situation, problems and solution of agriculture and countryside information on the news paper of ¡¶Science and Technology Daily¡·and magazines of ¡¶China Information Times¡· and ¡¶Money China¡·. In his opinion, the stratagem of information development must harmonize the rural industrialization, rural economic and social, explore the research of key information technology and balance rural and urban development.
