NERCITA is vigorously engaged in domestic and international cooperation, with long-term and stable partnership established with major relevant scientific research institutes and certain enterprises. We also cooperate with ASEAN (The Association of South East Asian Nations), EU (European Union) and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), and have built regional united laboratories with prominent universities and scientific research institutes. We have established more than 20 work stations supported by extension institutions so as to accelerate the transformation of our achievements. After discussion between some universities and NERCITA, we have agreed to recruit 15 to 20 graduate and doctor students in the name of the UNIVERSITY¡ªNERCITA each year. And our postdoctoral R&D workstation recruits 3-5 postdoctoral researchers annually.
NERCITA is actively engaged in international cooperation. We conduct joint research with Vietnamese National Center for Science and Technology Information, University of Wyoming, French National Institute for Agricultural Research, Wageningen University and Research Center in the Netherlands, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO ) of Australia, Egypt National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (NARSS). We have also recruited top experts well-known in international academic arena as visiting researchers of NERCITA.
Each year NERCITA hosts 2-3 domestic symposiums for academic exchange and 1-2 international conferences, and more than 50 personnel exchanges are conducted, both inbound and outbound. The biannual ¡°International Symposium on Intelligent Information Technology in Agriculture¡± has served as a fixed platform for domestic and international academic exchange. In June, 2007, NERCITA organized the ¡°Training for Information Technology in Agriculture for Africans¡±, which was commissioned by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). |
